Participating in the Covenant Committee doesn't take much - just an hour-long meeting once a month or so and occasional patrols through a section of the neighborhood. With more volunteers, the Covenant Committee will be better able to enforce covenants in an efficient and timely manner. It's unrealistic for such a small group to consistently look for and enforce covenant violations throughout the whole neighborhood. Oakbrook has over 400 homes, yet the Covenant Committee only has four members. Housing prices in covenant protected neighborhoods are 2% to 17% higher, according to the Community Associations Institute.īut we need your help. In fact, communities with HOAs and active covenant enforcement have better home values than their non-HOA neighbors. The HOA board and Covenant Committee agree that covenant enforcement is a vital part of the HOA's role in Oakbrook - and it is key to keeping Oakbrook a pleasant, flourishing neighborhood. Our neighborhood looked wonderful this past holiday season with the beautiful variety of holiday lights displayed by residents. Through these more visible events, our goal continues to be to develop community within Oakbrook and to protect our property values via enforcement of the covenants. Our goal for the upcoming year is to more visibly serve the community with three types of events per quarter: a charity event, a community event, and a service event.
